Natural Stone Staircases

Specialists in stone staircases for the last 3 years, Atelier 109 has gained a great deal of experience through our recent projects in London. We can or retrofit a spiral staircase in and old building, or build from scratch a new flight of stairs working alongside the architect, client or project manager.

To help speeding up the process we use the same structural engineering firm and drawing office which help us to bring the best, quickest and cheapest solutions to your cantilever stairwell.

We can provide you with alternative designs for your stone staircase, change the profile of the step, or the type of staircase, using the classical palladian style with a delicate soffite or the French style with a solid stone ribbon on the light well.

Using stone for your staircase adds solidity and a timeless charm to any hall or reception room.

Highly autonomous, we usually come on site with all our own tools, crane and lifting device, issuing our own method statement and COSH paper work.

Cantilever & Spiral Stone Staircases

Atelier 109 can recreate a cantilever or spiral stone stairway to replace an existing stone staircase. We work in Ketton stone, the hardest French limestone, Portland Stone, Ancaster Stone, Clipsham stone, Anstrude stone and Lepine stone.

Alternatively we can create a new stone stairwell, stone staircase or stone stair treads from your own design or that of your architect.

You may commission the skilled stonemasons at Atelier 109 to design, craft and instal a new stone staircase or to restore an existing one to its original splendour.
