Stone Masons services
As you will discover through our gallery, we can become involved early in your project to find the best stone, and to provide the technical answers to any project, whatever its size. We have recently been involved in the creation of an elegant copy of a grand classical orangery in stone for a private client and the design of marble baths and marble sinks. We are at the moment currently working on 3 grand limestone stairways, with intricate landings and massive steps in Portland stone and Ancaster limestone.
We not only provide drawings for your designs, we can also micro manage each project, taking care of the method statement, COSH, and calculations sheet and specifications.
The wide variety of projects handled in the last 20 years have allowed us also to play a leading role in modern and new builds where we are able to guide the designer towards the best use of stone for the project.
Load-bearing stone and sustainability
Browsing throught our projects, you will see that we encourage the use of massive (load-bearing) stone. We love the unique property of the natural stone, which is at once a structural material and a decorative one: the stone being the skin and bone of the fabric of the building. Using solid stone makes the handling and fitting of the stone easier and less prone to defect than light contemporary stone cladding.
All our stone is sourced in local or European quarres, following a tight set of rules, covering the impact of the extraction to the disposal and recycling of their waste. Our haulage companies all use the most energy efficient trucks to reduce their carbon footprint , whilst our packaging materials are made of wood ropes that are easily disposable on site.
