Marble Commission

Commission Work

No stranger to challenges, we regularly work on special commissions, which we have always completed to the strict and tight specifications of their designer.

We have enjoyed tremendously working alongside artists to help to make their vision become reality, learning along the way, with us, new texture and crafts and mixing different materials.

What ever the project, quality is always at the heart of our philosophy, nailing every little detail, trying to get most of the problems worked out on the mock up or model to avoid any disappointment in the finished project. Highly flexible, our team can work off site, or in the quarry chosen by the artist, (in the UK or abroad) or at our workshop between Peterborough in Cambridgeshire and Stamford in Lincolnshire.

Commission Atelier 109 for your stonemasonry project

You can commission Atelier 109 to work on your projects in Portland stone, Marble, French limestone, Anstrude, Bath or Lepine stone throughout the United Kingdom or abroad. We are happy to work to your specification to create carved items such as stone furniture, stone benches, marble urban furniture, marble furniture, sculptures and carvings for both public spaces and private commissions. Whatever your concept, Atelier 109 can make it a reality.

We are proud to have been involved in projects in stone for public spaces and private homes as far afield as New York, France and Stamford in Lincolnshire, UK. Atelier 109 helped to create the urban street furniture for the new market square in Besancon, stone sculptures and marble garden furniture for the Mobilier Immobile project in France, and the Eleanor Cross carving in Ketton stone for the Gateway Project in Stamford, Lincolnshire UK.

The Eleanor Cross, Stamford

Edward 1 errected 12 Eleanor Crosses in memory of his wife in the 13th Century. Atelier stonemason, Pierre Bidaud was involved in the recreation of the Eleanor Cross in Stamford in 2008. The stone is carved out of Ketton stone and forms the centrepiece of Stamford's new Gateway Project. Read more about this project in Natural Stone Magazine here.
